2010 British Open Championship

Hey folks! Aren’t you anxious to watch Tiger Woods in the 2010 British Open Championship on DISH Network? Well, we all are excited about that. But the golf lovers can be even more excited about watching the event which is being help at St Andrews, Scotland, the legendary birthplace of golf. So do not forget to watch the third round of the legendary golfing event on ESPN at 6 AM. Well, that’s pretty early!!! If you cannot get up early enough to watch it, you can still get the highlight and a comprehensive coverage of the game on ABC from 3 PM onwards.

Aren’t you already getting the thrill to watch the British open straight from St Andrews, Scotland? I mean people have been queuing up in that golfing venue for a round on the Old Course for over 500 years … ignoring the rain, heavy wind off the North Sea just to see ( experience will be more appropriate) golf in its purest form. And we can watch the sport in DISH HD without leaving the cozy comfort of living room!!! Now that it a great thing!!!

However, there is going to be a milder wind during the third round of British Open Championship 2010. Let us take a quick look at who stands where after the first 2 rounds : Louis Oosthuizen, a 27-year-old South African stand on 12-under par 132 after 36 holes. That is five strokes ahead of Mark Calcavecchia, the 1989 Open champion. He enjoyed the biggest mid-point lead at the British Open Championship since Bobby Clampett in 1982.

2010 British Open : Tiger Woods practises at St Andrews

World number one Tiger Woods as well as 2010 British Open Championship first-round lead holder Rory McIlroy struggled in round two. Woods has got a one-over 73 and is eight strokes behind. Lee Westwood and Paul Casey, South Korean amateur Jin Jeong as well as Alejandro Canizares from Spain shares third position on 138 which is six off the pace.

Woods said “We didn’t get what Louis got. He got it 16 holes downwind. That’s just the way it goes. If you get a good break you have to capitalize on it. He certainly did. Everyone else, we had to grind it out, gut it out.” He also added “Everyone is dealing with the wind and everyone is playing the same golf course – just got to go out there and execute,” Woods won British Open titles in 2000 and 2005 and hopes to become the first three-time Open winner at St. Andrews.

Tiger Woods is a 14-time major champion. However, he has not won since last November when he went for a five-month layoff after some sex scandals. He finished fourth both at the Masters and US Open. We surely hope that he makes a glorious comeback at 2010 British Open Championship. But will he? To know that, watch ESPN tomorrow morning. ( I wish I was an early riser!)

The final round of 2010 British Open Championship coverage will be available on ESPN from 6.00 AM onwards tomorrow. It will be a great event. But will you be able to watch it in such early hours? If not, then do not forget to schedule your DISH HD DVR to record the event. You can watch the event at anytime later. But whatever you do – Do Not Miss It!
