Do you love watching ‘The Daily Show’ or ‘The Colbert Report’ on Comedy Central on DISH Network? Then you can stay assured that the shows are here to stay. The popular satellite TV channel Comedy Central has signed different deals with both Jon Stewart, the host of ‘The Daily Show’ and Stephen Colbert, the host of ‘The Colbert Report’ to stay on these late-night shows till the next presidential election.
As per the deal, Stewart will be hosting ‘The Daily Show’ till June 2013, while Colbert will continue with ‘The Colbert Report’ till the end of 2012.
These shows have been a huge hit for Comedy Central. Some of the earlier comedy shows from the channel like South Park bas brought recognition to the channel. but the channel earned fame and respect from these two popular shows. Since 1999, when Stewart joined ‘The Daily Show’ it has earned 32 Emmy Nominations. It has a record of winning seven consecutive awards for outstanding variety, music and comedy series. The Colbert report has got 15 Emmy nominations since 2005.
Both the shows are very popular and successful. However, this November the shows are going to have a tough competition from TBS as the late night comedy show of Conan O’Brien will move into the 11 PM slot. It would be interesting to see who wins this laughter challenge.
Which show will be the most popular show in the long run? Do you have any hunch? Share your thoughts and ideas with us.
