Betty White – A Palooza Continues on DISH Network

Betty WhiteAll you Betty White fans out there must be feeling bad as tonight, the much loved show ‘Hot in Cleveland’ starring the ‘Golden Girl’ Betty White is airing its season finale on TV Land (DISH Network channel 106) at 10 PM tonight. So, you won’t be getting your weekly fix of comedy and Betty White! However, there is absolutely no need to worry for the show as well as the renowned actress will be back for a second season in January.

Though I will not disclose much, let me tell you that tonight’s season finale of ‘Hot in Cleveland’ is going to have a special guest appearance – Susan Lucci (as if you did not know) who will appear as herself. And yes, get ready for some shocker and that definitely revolves around Elka (Betty White).

Do you miss Jennifer Love Hewitt on the tube as well? We all have seen her in a made for TV movie ‘The Client List’ in the Lifetime Movie Network. And now she teams up with …you guessed that right, Betty White for a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie for CBS. So, the Betty White – a Palooza continues….

White, the 88-year-old tube icon and Hewitt will reportedly star in a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie for CBS named ‘The Lost Valentine.’ The movie is based on the novel by James Michael Pratt. In the satellite TV movie, Hewitt will star as a reporter who profiles a woman (Betty White) whose husband was declared missing in action during World War II. Well, with a long experience as ‘The Ghost Whisperer’, who can be a better choice for locating a seemingly long-dead lost love than Hewitt…eh?

The film will shoot in Atlanta this fall and will air in early 2011. So watch out for it!

Catch Betty White in ‘Hot in Cleveland’ Season Premiere on DISH Network

We love her! We adore her! We just cannot have enough of the old gal!

And now the ‘Golden Girl’ is back on satellite TV is as a regular in TV Land’s first original sitcom, ‘Hot in Cleveland’ on DISH Network. Yes, Betty White is making a regular appearance in the satellite TV show as a regular. Now, how hot is that?

TV land brings you a brand new comedy which is the first original scripted comedy for that channel as well.  The show is written by Emmy Award winner Suzanne Martin and is produced by another Emmy Award winner, Sean Hayes.This brand new show features comedy veterans like Valerie Bertinelli (of ‘One Day at a Time’ fame), Jane Leeves (of ‘Frasier’ fame) and Wendie Malick (of ‘Dream On’ and ‘Just Shoot Me!’ fame) and of course Betty White (How can one forget her?).

This awesome threesome play a trio of Los Angeles singleton best friends who make a stopover in Cleveland after their flight to Paris comes to a sudden stop. But who knew that the pit stop can prove to be the turning point in their lives?

The middle aged trio soon rediscover themselves in a new “promised land” where the local men think they are hot stuff! Now this comes as a fresh lease of life to the trio and they find a happy homeland once again.

However, not everyone is charmed by the new girls in town. At least not Elka, the caretaker of the house the women rented in Cleveland. Guess who plays the role of Elka in this series? Yes! She is none other than our old ‘Golden Girl’, the fabulous Betty White! Sassy Elka has been there, done that, and the new L.A. ladies don’t impress her much. And the best part is that she is not shy about telling that on the face. To some that might sound like a 1980s sitcom transplanted to 2012. But hey! We all love a little vintage fun, don’t we?
