The closing ceremony took place at BC place in the city of Vancouver, a part of British Columbia, Canada. The stadium has seats for as many as 55000 people. This is one of the most unusual closing ceremonies as in the history Olympics this is the first closing ceremony that took place in an indoor stadium. The song “long May You Run” was performed by Neil Young as the Olympic cauldrons were extinguished followed by speeches and performances that were praised by all. At the end the 2010 Winter Olympics came to an official end with bedazzling fireworks outside the stadium.

In this prestigious sports event the United States tops the medal count with 37 medals, followed by Germany (30 medals) and Canada (28 medals). On the other hand, Canada holds the maximum number of gold medals in the 2010 Winter Olympics including gold medal in hockey. Thus Canada has set a record for winning the highest number of gold medals in this sporting event.
