‘The Amazing Race’ Season 17 Cast Revealed! [PICTURE]

Great news awaits you, reality TV fans! CBS’s long-running hit reality competition ’The Amazing Race‘ has finally announced the new cast for the upcoming 17th season that is scheduled to air on DISH Network at September 26. You can watch it on DISH HD mode!

Who will win one million dollars this year along with the memories of a lifetime? Will an all-female team take the first place for the first time? Well at present these are a bit difficult to tell. However, it is never too early to form an opinion. However, before I bug you with my opinions and influence your thinking, here are the teams at the ‘The Amazing Race’ season 17!

• Andie and Jenna – Andie De Kroon, (43) and Jenna Sykes (21) are great mother-daughter team! But it has some twist in it! Jenna was given for adoption and the race will be the third time Jenna is seeing her biological mother. Jenna said in her official CBS bio “I hope to get to know my birth mother through this incredible opportunity. It is my hope that we will be able to spend a lot of time together and become friends.

• Brook and Claire – Brook Roberts (27) and Claire Champlin (30) are no new name to satellite TV: they play the co-host at a Home Shopping show on jewelry. Brook said “I’ve been to mines all over the world and I know the chemical makeup of just about every gemstone on the planet!

• Chad and Stephanie – Chad Waltrip (26) and Stephanie Smith (23) are dating couple who have a secret travel fear. And they always worry about being arrested in a foreign land.

• Connor and Jonathan -Connor Diemand-Yauman (22) and Jonathan Schwartz (22) are best friends who sing together in a capella group at Princeton University.

• Gary and Mallory – Gary Ervin (53) and his daughter Mallory (24) are dreaming to become the first father-daughter team to emerge as winners in the race. And one thing, Mallory is at present finishing her term as Miss Kentucky 2009. So, she might like to beat last year’s third place finish by former Miss Teen South Carolina Caite Upton.

• Jill and Thomas – Jill Haney (27) and Thomas Wolfard (30) are dating couple. Let us see how they manage to be lovey dovey after the killer fatigue which gradually sets in. Jill finds out their biggest hurdles on the Race as “communication and not being short tempered with one another.”

• Katie and Rachel – Katie Seamon (23) and Rachel Johnston (24) are professional beach volleyball players from New Jersey. What’s the big difference between these two and the gals of MTV’s ‘Jersey Shore?’ Ac Rachel says, “I often sleep with a stuffed hippo named Winston.” Hmmm Snooki might not like these kinda things.

• Michael and Kevin – Michael Wu (58) and Kevin Wu (20) are spotlight-savvy. Kevin is the youngest contestant in ‘Amazing Race’ history. He has more than a million fans on YouTube, in which he co-stars with his dad.

• Nat and Kat – Nat Strand (31) and Kat Chang (35) are friends, doctors and self-described nerds with an extensive travel experience.

• Nick and Vicki – Nick DeCarlo (26) and Vicki Casciola (26) are a dating couple who believe “people think we’re more of the rough couple” as Nick puts it! May be it’s because of the tattoos, the Harley, Mohawk and much more!

• Ron and Tony – Ron Kellum (45) and Tony Stovall (42) are best friends with different physiques and careers: Ron is a director as well as choreographer, while Tony is a doctoral student who goes to the University of Arizona.

So, it is quite a vibrant cast isn’t it? But who among them will win the race this time? To know that you need to follow the show from September 26 onwards on DISH Network channel CBS. Like the previous seasons, this season of ‘The Amazing Race’ hopes to be a little err… racy!
