‘South Park’ to Show Muhammad on DISH Network

April 14, 2010 is a significant night in animation as ‘South Park’ broadcasted its 200th episode. All the fans of the popular animated satellite TV series ‘South Park’ were looking forward to watch the episode after it was told that the episode may contain a character which depict the Islamic prophet, Muhammad. Yes, you head that right! It is sure to be an episode to remember.

The controversy regarding showing Muhammad in a show dates back to September of 2005 when a Danish newspaper shown an image of the prophet in comic series. This had lead to fierce protests by Muslims in the Middle East.

About one year after this incident ‘South Park’ produced a two part episode titled “Cartoon Wars” that tried to show Muhammad as a character who appears as a guest star on Family Guy series. However, during the airing of the show, DISH TV channel Comedy Central did not broadcast the highly debated scene.

On July 4, 2001 an episode titled Super Best Friends has successfully aired with the depiction of the prophet. But whether ‘South Park’ will be able to show the prophet in the 200th episode remained a question.

Watch out for ‘South Park’ on Comedy Central on DISH Network. It is truly going to be exciting!!!
