Hi Sarah! At present almost 90% of the viewers in North America suffer from irritating sound fluctuation. So, TruVolume technology comes as a great advantage to them.

According to per our knowledge, TruVolume technology will be rolled out to DISH Network set-top boxes somewhere in the first half of the second quarter of the year.

I read about this capability some months ago. The audio level discrepancies just from SD to HD programming on Dish has made SD programming (earsplitting) so unpleasant to use, I avoid it.

Any clue about when Dish will actually roll this out to customers? I hope it's real, which would be all but unlikely since the VIP 922 DVR receiver was demonstrated at CES in early January, 2009 and its release has never been announced. That's almost 14 months.
