DISH Network and DIRECTV Legal Battle Comes to an End

After months of fighting with each other about a smear campaigning, both DIRECTV and DISH Network have agreed to put an end to the false-advertising lawsuit on the “Why Pay More” commercials. The initial lawsuit and the counterclaims have been dropped. This has put an end to the stupid fights among the two leading satellite TV providers of the country. Such a smearing campaign from the pioneering names of the satellite TV industry was not a good example of healthy competition. So, the lawsuit has been dropped for good.

The satellite TV providers have already taken different approaches for their company operations. For the past two quarters DISH Network has scored over DIRECTV in terms of net subscriber growth. DIRECTV, on the other hand is concentrating hard on increasing the profitability rather than on expansion of its customer base.

The two satellite TV providers have been battling with each other regarding who has more channels for less, or who has the maximum number of HD channel. The viewers get the maximum benefits out of it. As the providers are undercutting each other by offering more channels at low price, the subscriber can get to enjoy a better quality entertainment without burning a hole in the pocket. So, it’s the viewers who are the winners at this point of time. Which of these satellite TV providers win in the long run is still a matter of debate. All we can say that if these two companies opt for healthy competition rather than smearing each other, they will gain more profit and achieve the ‘numero uno’ position in future.
