2010 Major League Baseball All-Star Game: Facts
2010 Major League Baseball All-Star Game will be the 81st mid-season exhibition between the all-stars of the American League and the National League. These two leagues comprise Major League Baseball! (As if, you did not know!) The game will be held today (July 13, 2010) at Angel Stadium of Anaheim – home of the American League Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
It will be the third All-Star Game that is hosted by the Anaheim, California. The city previously hosted the games in the years 1967 and 1989. The team which will win the match will earn a home field advantage for the World Series.

You have selected Twins catcher Joe Mauer, Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols (who earned top spot in the National League) as the starters through the largest All-Star balloting program in sports.
This year the MLB Fans cast 21.2 million ballots, OMG! This is the second-highest figure in the history. The fans have decided nine American League as well as eight NL starters. Sounds amazing, isn’t it?

2010 Major League Baseball All-Star Game: New Rules
2010 Major League Baseball All-Star Game brings the first major changes since 2003. this year the designated hitter becomes a stable fixture of the game despite of site. The fans will still be able to will vote the starter in. However the manager of National League will name their DH before the game.
This year the rosters of each league team will increase to 34 players. Pitchers who started the regular season game immediately before the game will not be able to pitch in the game. However, they will still be recognized as an All-Star.
A modified re-entry rule will also makes its debut this year. Other than the existing injured catcher rule, the manager will now be allowed to select a position player who can re-enter the game in case where the last available position player at any position is injured.
So you can expect a lot of excitement and plenty of new stuff in the game this year. So do not forget to keep your DISH HD DVR ready to watch the match over and over again. (But that does not mean that you will miss the event on DISH Network Today!)
2010 Major League Baseball All-Star Game: Fun Stuff
2010 Major League Baseball All-Star Game will have a special performance by ‘Glee’ star Amber Riley. She perform the U.S. National Anthem prior to the All-Star Game where as the Canadian Anthem will be performed by the Canadian Tenors. It will be a part of the pre-game ceremony where the 30 PEOPLE “All-Stars Among Us” will be honored.
