Attention lacrosse fans! You can now watch the 2010 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championships on DISH Network. US Lacrosse and the English Lacrosse Association has joined hands with ESPNU to telecast the championship game of the 2010 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championships. The championship game will be broadcast live on July 24 at 11:00 AM EST from Manchester, England. Now, isn’t that a great news?

2010 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championships is considered as the most prestigious event in Lacrosse. Thirty countries from across the world will compete for the gold at the quadrennial men’s lacrosse World Championships in the month of July. Team USA is in the Blue Division. The nation is sharing its division with Canada, Iroquois, England, Australia and Japan.

Opening ceremonies for the FIL World Championships has begun on July 15. Team USA is going to play its first game today in a Blue Division matchup. They will play against Australia. The pool games will end on July 20 and the medal round will begin on July 22. The championship game or the gold medal game will be held on July 24.

US Lacrosse’s Chief Operating Officer, Bill Schoonmaker says “It is important to lacrosse fans around the country to see the very best lacrosse in the world and we wanted to provide that for our sport.” He also added, “Thanks to the generous contributions of U.S. men’s national team supporters, the goal with this investment is to inspire participation and showcase the world’s best lacrosse in action on TV for sports fans here in the states.”

US Lacrosse has arranged for the national broadcast of the championship game in an effort to offer U.S. sports enthusiasts a sneak peek into international lacrosse in advance of the 2014 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championships that will be held in Denver, Colo.
